GATWICK AIRPORT SALE EXCITES

The first details of the offer for sale of Gatwick Airport and requests for expressions of interest have been widely taken up.  A Competition Commission Report last year said that BAA should sell Gatwick, Stansted and some of its regional airports.  A decision on a buyer for Gatwick is expected this summer.  MD of Gatwick Airport, Andy Flower, has told I-SIGHT: "The sale is progressing in line with the plan that BAA announced in September 2008.  My management team and I are closely involved in this process to ensure that London Gatwick becomes a stand-alone business while continuing to deliver a high level of service to airport passengers and business partners and by making a positive contribution to the local economy."
